Job description

PWR (Paull & Warner Resources) provides various sectors with a comprehensive range of products that encapsulate all aspects of the “First Response” industry, covering fire suppression, emergency response vehicles, rescue equipment, emergency response training and personnel hire.
 
PWR is currently looking for an experienced "Purchasing Coordinator" to join our Fire Division. The purpose of the role at PWR is to coordinate end-to-end purchasing for a newly obtained major top-tier contract.
 
Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Meet cost reduction/savings targets through proactive negotiation of pricing with suppliers to meet or better the estimated cost.
  • Monitor purchasing processes and work with others to correct errors and maintain the efficiency of vendors and materials.
  • Ensure efficient and effective 2-way flow of purchase order information across the supply chain stakeholders – Branches, Stores and Vendors.
  • Prepare, raise and administer purchase orders to ensure on-time, lowest-cost supply of goods and services to meet the planned delivery dates.
  • Ensure timely resolution of invoice queries and follow up on outstanding invoices as requested.
  • Monitor stock levels using an in-house system.
  • Pursue and resolve warranty claims with suppliers.
  • Ensure all orders are receipted accurately and on time.
  • Manage and update out-of-stock items.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery and, or invoice issues.
  • Maintain strong and effective relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Work closely with your team to ensure efficient in and out product flow.
  • Adhoc tasks as required.
The successful applicant will have a number of the following attributes:
  • Experience in a similar role previously.
  • Familiarity with mining industries
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Personal drive and results-orientation
This role will require the right applicant to undertake a wide array of duties and balance the needs of various clients on a day-to-day basis.
