We have partnered with one of our key clients to recruit a Purchasing Officer to join their business at a time where there has been significant change. This business is going through a journey to change their culture and drive good purchasing practices across the board.
ROLE
As the Purchasing Officer in this business, you will be responsible to take charge of, coordinate, and execute a variety of tasks related to the procurement of a diverse array of goods and services. You will be solution focused, proactive and have strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Specifically, you will;
- Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, from requisition to delivery.
- Process requisitions, manage and track procurement activities efficiently within the system.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely and quality delivery of goods and services.
- Manage product recalls and support the identification of savings and consolidation opportunities.
- Check stock availability with suppliers, sourcing alternatives when needed, and communicate relevant backorder information to end users.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
- 2 + years’ experience within a purchasing function.
- Strong understand of Purchasing Best Practices, Policies & Procedures.
- Must have strong experience in Microsoft products and exposure to ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail & customer service skills
