We are in search of a motivated and seasoned Purchasing Officer to join our team and help us continue to offer exceptional products and services to our community.

Role Overview:

As a Purchasing Officer with Dome Garden Supplies, you will be instrumental in procuring garden and landscaping supplies, ensuring our product offerings are of the highest quality, sustainable, and provide value to our customers. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, exceptional negotiation skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the gardening and landscaping industry. Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred, as it will be central to managing purchasing and inventory tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Management: Foster and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, negotiate cost-effective deals, and ensure the prompt delivery of products.
• Market Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends and product innovations to identify potential new suppliers and products.
• Inventory Control: Work in concert with sales and warehouse teams to monitor stock levels and predict purchasing needs, guaranteeing a smooth and efficient supply chain.
• Quality Assurance: Perform quality inspections on incoming goods, addressing any issues with suppliers to uphold our high product quality standards.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Seek suppliers and products that support Dome Garden Supplies' commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
• Contract Management: Oversee contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring all parties meet their obligations and resolving any contract issues that arise.
• ERP Proficiency: Utilize SAP or a preferred ERP system for managing purchasing processes, inventory, and supplier contracts efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in the gardening, landscaping, or a closely related industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Skilled in analyzing market trends for informed purchasing decisions.
• Experienced with inventory management and supply chain optimization.
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP or similar ERP systems.
