Purchasing Officer

Responsibilities:

- Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices for top-quality ingredients, packaging materials, and other essential supplies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and customers, ensuring timely delivery and prompt resolution of any issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent stock shortages while minimizing excess inventory.
- Collaborate closely with the production team to understand ingredient requirements and coordinate purchasing accordingly.
- Prepare accurate and efficient purchase orders, contracts, and other documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Place orders with various suppliers, ensuring precise quantities of products.
- Provide support to the warehouse team in monitoring inventory levels.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and customers, relaying production schedules and stock levels.
- Compile and distribute finished goods reports to suppliers and customers, ensuring smooth operations.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar role, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and effective communication with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards is desirable.
