About the Position
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Purchasing Officer will play a crucial role in purchasing of goods, materials, and services, with key responsibilities not restricted to:
- Purchasing of goods, materials, and services within company policy.
- Ensuring that all goods, materials, and services are purchased in accordance with specified requirements of quality, quantity, by specified date.
- Obtaining quotes from suppliers and raising purchase orders.
- Ensure that all goods ordered are delivered according to the purchase order due dates in our ERP system, and any overdue goods, materials or services are expedited.
- Identify inventory gaps or deficiencies that could impact on business operations.
- Monitoring and maintaining any changes that need to be made to supplier lead times.
- Supporting the logistics team in the planning and executing of stock takes.
- Using the company's ERP systems and in liaison with the Sales Manager and Logistics Manager monitor incoming sales orders, production schedules and inventory levels to determine the company's purchasing needs.
- Validating and preparing PO for freight invoices, including allocating the freight cost to work orders and reports.
- Following and complying with all service quality and safety standards, procedures, and regulations.

About You
To be successful in the Purchasing Officer position, you will need:
- Proven experience within a similar role, with a focus on purchasing and inventory management.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task across conflicting priorities.
- Proficiency in VISUAL or similar MRP systems (e.g., SAP, MFGPRO).
- Well-developed communication skills
- Ability to build strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
