We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Officer to join our growing Supply Chain Team. This position will be responsible for assisting the procurement process for the organisation. You will be involved in identifying the needs of the organization, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and costs, and monitoring supplier performance.

About the Role

• Assessing the purchasing needs of the business and creating a procurement plan to meet those needs.
• Identifying potential suppliers and evaluating their capabilities, price, and quality of goods or services.
• Negotiating contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable terms for the business.
• Managing the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking delivery schedules, and ensuring on-time delivery of goods or services.
• Managing relationships with suppliers to monitor performance, resolve any issues, and maintain positive and ongoing communication.
• Maintaining accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
• Continuously evaluating and improving procurement processes to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborating with other departments, such as projects, R&D, finance and operations, to ensure purchasing activities align with business goals and budgets.
• Keeping up to date with market trends, new products, and supplier offerings to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved products or services.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in all purchasing activities.
• Monitoring inventory levels and planning purchasing schedules to forecast plans
• Stocktake and Cycle Counting

About You

• 3+ Years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent negotiation, organisation and planning skills
• Proven experience in a purchasing role.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and other relevant software.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, team player.
• Self-Motivated and displays initiative.
• Proficient in computer-based programs - Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of NetSuite – preferred but not essential
