The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our ANZ Procurement and Supply team on a full time, permanent basis in Erskine Park. As Purchasing Officer, you will assist in providing an effective national replenishment service for assigned product lines by ensuring balanced stock holdings to satisfy the sales demand/forecast, while also ensuring that product is landed in store in the most cost-effective way.

You will be responsible for:
- Raising Purchase Orders for regular and back orders to achieve the best possible purchase price and balanced stock levels to support sales.
- Following up outstanding and overdue shipments to ensure their expeditious delivery to warehouses.
- Ensuring cost prices are correctly recorded in the ERP system.
- Managing supplier relationships to ensure performance is in line with agreed targets.
- Minimising obsolete and excess stock.
- Investigating and rectifying supplier delivery errors.
- Working with category management team to support promotional activities and new product launches.
- Assisting Purchasing and Vendor Data Manager in analysing and improving supply chain KPIs.
About You
Our ideal candidate will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications (preferred though not essential) and/or completion of a relevant procurement course (i.e. CIPS).
- Demonstrated three years experience in a similar role within a supply chain environment.
- Solid understanding of purchasing processes and documentation with current knowledge of external factors that could impact availability of goods and pricing.
- Experience in a fast-moving, multiple DC environment.
- Demonstrated experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
- Strong skills in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office as well as advanced analytical skills for reporting.
- Well developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen to achieve positive financial outcomes for the business.
