Purchasing Officer / Inventory Controller

PURCHASING OFFICER / INVENTORY CONTROLLER

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Purchasing Officer / Inventory Controller to join our expanding team at our Headquarters in Moorabbin.

THE ROLE
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following tasks:

• Raise Purchase Orders according to sales orders and inventory.
• Conduct monthly stocktakes, record and make adjustments to the ERP system and oversee support staff.
• Follow up on deliveries.
• Manage local and international freight.
• Communicate delays in deliveries and coordinate with production planning.
• Check delivery accuracy against Purchase Orders and Invoices.
• Manage Quality Control of goods received.
• Identify and rectify any delivery errors with suppliers.
• Process inwards goods into the ERP system.
• Manage stock and maintain optimum min/max inventory levels.
• Coordinate and monitor finished goods stock records.
• Work closely with production planning and provide support and back-up as required.
• Source the highest quality and most competitive suppliers for raw materials, components, and products.
• Promptly distribute stock and maintain organised and systematic storage.
• Update ERP price list as required.
• Review back-orders and urgent requirements.
• Process goods returns. 
• Generate stocktake reports and analyse data to identify anomalies and improvement opportunities.

• Experience in a purchasing / inventory role.
• An effective negotiator.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Process driven with strong attention to detail.
• Computer literate with good processing skills.
• Good time management, organisational & analytical skills.
• Ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical parts.
• High level of communication (oral and written).
• Mathematically literate.
• Experience using ERP systems is a requirement.
• Experience using ECI M1 would be an advantage.
