The Opportunity
The Inventory Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless management of inventory movements between suppliers and processing departments in alignment with business plans and inventory control processes. This includes overseeing reusable packaging systems within customer-supplier-customer relationship models. Successful candidate will monitor inventory levels, maintain accurate records, analyse data, and drive process improvements to optimize inventory workflows while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols. This role is located at our Egg Grading Floor facility located in Euroa.
The Role
Reporting to Production Scheduler some of your duties and responsibilities will include:
• Coordinate with suppliers to replenish stock in a timely manner, considering lead times, demand forecasts and scheduled production.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize spoilage, and product obsolescence.
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete items and recommend strategies for clearance or disposal.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, withdrawals, and adjustments.
• Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and inventory performance metrics.
• Analyse inventory data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate inventory status updates and insights to management and relevant stakeholders.
• Continuously review and streamline inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, scheduling/production and logistics, to optimize inventory workflows.
• Recommend and implement software solutions or technological tools to enhance inventory tracking and control.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards in inventory handling and storage.
• Monitor expiry dates and shelf-life of food products and take proactive measures to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
About You
• Understanding of the supply chain, process flow and effects of supply chain disruption.
• Understanding of process flow and comprehension of basic accounting practises.
• Experience in docket control/reconciliation.
• SAP data entry experience.
• Ability to perform under pressure and maintain logical decision-making ability.
• Proven experience in inventory management within the food industry or similar fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with all stakeholders.
