About the Opportunity
Australian Agribusiness is seeking a full-time permanent Purchasing Officer to be based at our head office in Rhodes. This role reports through to the Purchasing Team Leader and will work alongside a close-knit, friendly team, of Purchasing Officers. The successful candidate will use their experience to assist with inventory and purchase requirements across the business. This role offers hybrid/flexible working opportunities.
Key Duties
- Purchase order management - placing of purchase orders, following up delivery dates and backorders
- Review and actioning purchase requirements for 2,000+ SKU’s
- Identifying and reporting on potential risks with regard to projected orders
- Manage and maintain Item Master Data
- Contribute to the company’s strategic plans and goals
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers
- Communicating and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
- A minimum 3-5 years’ relevant practical experience
- Able to communicate with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise mature judgement, diplomacy, and discretion
- Computer literacy in MS Office and able to adapt to ERP systems.
- High level of administrative and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and schedule work to meet deadlines
- High level of attention to detail and great time management skills, in a fast paced, high SKU environment
- Previous experience working for a multi-site distribution and/or manufacturing company
- Ability to manage purchasing duties in both a manufacturing and distribution environment will be highly regarded but not essential.
