Global manufacturing company seeking a Purchasing Officer for a short-term assignment in South Sydney. The position has the potential to go permanent after the initial assignment.
Your new role
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for planning and procurement of materials and services, ensuring continuous operation to increase customer satisfaction and to meet demand. Your responsibilities will include -
- MRP of stocked items, raw materials and finished goods in line with strategic procurement
- Purchasing of raw materials and finished goods from local and overseas suppliers
- Create and maintain receipt routings and delivery tracking in a timely manner
- Understanding of import/export and various international shipping requirements
- Update and maintain ETA’s
- Confirm and acknowledge orders
- Update records and all stakeholders to optimise inventories
- Provide assistance to warehouse in regard to stocktake counts if required
What you'll need to succeed
Purchasing and inventory management experience with a strong emphasis on MRP in an ERP environment.
Strong computer skills including sound Excel spreadsheet competencies.
Strong analytical and process orientation.
A high level of oral and written communication skills.
