Job description

Our client is a well known brand for Baby products including sleepwear, outerwear, manchester and baby accessories including bibs, shoes, pre-walkers. We are looking for a Garment Tech/QC person to join the team on a Permanent Part Time basis. (2- 3 days per week)

Job Overview: As the  Quality Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products to identify any defects or deviations from specifications. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to quality will contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of fit, PP and final samples to ensure they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests using various tools and equipment to detect defects, deviations, or non-conformities
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including any deviations from specifications or quality issues encountered.
  • Organise 3rd party inspections with factories and submit their reports to customers if required.
  • Organise fabric and garment testing with Intertek, SGS etc and keep records
  • Submit samples to retailers as required along with all documentation.
  • Keep up to date with production status from factories and communicate with management.
  • Supplying all details to designer in order to complete packaging, care labelling etc to standard requirements for products.
  • Check packaging artwork prior to sending to factory or retailer for approval.
  • Filing all soft copy documentation.
  • Completing and emailing all documentation required for each retailer mainly for house branded product.
  • Keeping production status folder up to date.
  • Organising and maintaining samples.
  • Maintaining compliance folders both hard and soft copy for all products supplied.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in clothing, fashion, textile quality management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance role, preferably with baby/childrenswear. Knowledge of children’s sleepwear is highly preferable.
  • Detail-orientated with a keen eye for detecting defects and inconsistencies.
  • Strong communication skills with both offshore suppliers and internal team member, so as to communicate quality-related issues clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Computer knowledge- Word , Excel, Outlook etc.
