Job description

My client, an industry leader who are one of the most rapidly growing companies in their field, have an opportunity for an experienced QC/QA Officer to join their team, located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the processes in the Quality Manement System are maintained  and to develop and maintain open lines of communication with company internal stake holders together with external clients.

Main duties & responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that records are established and maintained to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposition of such records.
  • Review Job specific Date/Specifications and procure QC documentation prior to manufacturing
  • Welding inspections to varying standards.
  • Overseeing NDT.
  • Welding supervision. 
  • Dimensional and visual inspection of goods manufactured both internally and externally.
  • MDR compilation based on ISO9001 requirements and/or client specifications
  • Preparation of all required QA / QC manuals
  • Other duties as required

To be successful in this role you will need:

·               Ideally at least 5 years of welding experience as well as a 1796 Cert 10 Welding Inspection certificate

·               Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

·                Good understanding of Australian Welding Standards and NDT’s

·                Good understanding of blast/paint inspections to Australian Standards

·                Good understanding of various materials and relevant welding maps.

·                Drivers Licence and the ability to work autonomously.
