We have a rewarding opportunity to join MARS Food & Nutrition Australia within the Quality & Food Safety function as a Quality Assurance Specialist.
This is a varied and high impact role, with a broad scope to make a difference and drive improvements across the manufacturing site and market unit.
As part of your role you will be responsible to maintain, develop, and improve Quality Management System to ensure Site Regulatory Compliance and support the delivery of safe, legal, KQA compliant products to delight our consumers. You’ll lead and co-ordinate site regulatory compliance programs and activities in relation to Food Defence, distribution, foreign objects and consumer complaints investigations.
You’ll be supported by a highly engaged and positive team throughout your journey at Mars.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Develop, maintain and implement technical and procedural control measures to ensure compliance to Mars Global Quality Standards and Regulatory Standards incl. Halal, Biosecurity and NMI
- Lead the Food Defence team and program.
- Provide technical support and expertise to ensure the delivery of the Q&FS strategy.
- Engage in technical risk assessment and work collaboratively to investigate consumer contacts, product and packaging related challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement and execute quality projects in close collaboration across functions.
What are we looking for?
- Food Science/Technology, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent BSc/MSc degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years' experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment, working in Quality, Food Safety, or Product/Process development.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance & Hygiene programs such as HACCP/ISO 22000
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience with incident management, standards implementation and completing internal and external audits.
- A critical thinker, self-driven and effective team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment with experience managing multiple priorities and complex challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
