Supporting our Defence & Social Infrastructure sector, we are seeking a Quality Advisor to join the team in this full-time role that can be based in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney or Brisbane.
Reporting to the SHEQ Business Manager, the Quality Advisor as a key member in the operation of the SHEQ function is to partner with the Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) and Project and Workplace Solutions (PWS) Contracts providing leadership, advice and support for compliance and operational excellence in quality assurance matters.
This role will require some interstate travel and is responsible for ensuring the WoAG and PWS Contracts comply with the Ventia procedural framework Business Management System (BMS) requirements associated with achieving ISO accreditation and internal reporting requirements.
Other duties involve:
Provide expert advice and practical solutions to support the implementation, monitoring and governance of the Quality Assurance BMS framework across the Contracts.
Coach and mentor stakeholders to ensure broad knowledge of the Quality Assurance BMS and understanding of the direct impact on each role to maintain compliance requirements.
Manage and monitor the governance and assurance aspects of the SHEQ strategy for the Contracts.
Prepare and maintain the annual Integrated Audit & Inspection Plan for each contract.
Schedule and conduct internal, systems, supplier/subcontractor audits as per the plan.
Track actions and provide advice on close-out Corrective Action Reports (CARs)
Ensure compliance with BMS requirements, readiness for external audits and certifications/accreditations are maintained.
Monitor and review of the SHEQ Management Plans and Project Risk Registers.
Manage and maintain the Contracts Compliance Registers and VenLaw legal registers.
Ensure regular reporting is presented to Ventia Management:
Provide analysis of the results of reporting and focus on targeted improvement where results are below expectations and benchmarks.
Partner with the Contractor Management Team to:
Ensure Contractor Management processes align with BMS framework.
Assist the Contractor Management Team with subcontractor prequalification assessments as required.
Assist with maintaining the Rapid Global subcontractor management system.
Facilitate the Annual Contractor Risk Rating Assessment.
Manage and monitor the Contracts training needs:
Maintain the training matrix.
Ensure any legislated or industry standard changes are notified to the relevant stakeholders.
Plan and deliver any identified Quality Assurance training needs.
Preparation and distribution of internal and external communications.
Assist to manage, maintain and review the Business Continuity Plan and Emergency Management plans.
Facilitate document review process to ensure all contract documents are reviewed and records maintained in line with and comply with contractual and BMS requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Diploma in Quality Auditing or above
- Tertiary qualifications in Quality, OHS, Science or related discipline desirable.
- Experience with leading ISO accreditation processes
- Ability to implement and monitor Quality Assurance Objectives and Targets at a project level.
- Strong ability to articulate Quality Assurance strategy to operational leads.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- 5+ years in a similar industry, construction or facilities maintenance organisation
- Operational experience desirable.
- Demonstrated success in the delivery of internal audit programs and subcontractor audits
- Proven experience with WHS Legislation, ISO certification and codes of practice.
