Quality and Risk Officer - Aged Care

  • Full-time position contracted until June 2025 with possibility of permanent role subject to ongoing funding
  • Located in Surry Hills, NSW, 2010 with hybrid work arrangements on offer (2 days WFH)

About the organization:
  
The Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) is a national network of independent member organisations that give a voice to older people who are eligible for or receiving Aged Care services. OPAN is driven to influence Aged Care policy through systemic advocacy, by delivering advocacy services for older people across Australia.
  
About the role:
  
This role is key to OPAN’s established risk management strategy, including the Quality and compliance aspects. The role itself will be varied and diverse, in a fast-paced organisation, and will encompass a holistic approach to quality, risk, and compliance.
  
As theQuality and Risk Officer, you will leverage your knowledge and expertise to provide quality, risk, compliance, project management, and HR support across a range of areas critical to the operation and management of OPAN. You will also be involved in:
  
  • Ensuring the organisation meets essential risk and compliance requirements.
  • Contributing to the development, maintenance, and implementation of policy, procedures, projects, and other initiatives to support OPAN’s strategic and quality improvement plan.
  • Leading, supporting, and managing existing Quality and compliance projects.
  • Maintaining an established compliance register, coordinating across the team to ensure compliance activities are completed, recorded, and up to standard.
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships and effectively engaging with internal staff and external service delivery organisations.
  
Essential Criteria: To succeed in the role, you will be an experienced Quality and compliance officer with a flair for project management. You will also have:
  
  • Strong knowledge and depth of experience in compliance and Risk, as well as project management.
  • Professional background in the Aged Care or Not-for-Profit sector is highly regarded but not essential.
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills, demonstrated through previous experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a logical and process-driven approach to Quality and Risk management.
  • Proactive approach to managing multiple competing priorities, along with the ability to work self-sufficiently to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills
  • Proficient technical skills (i.e., Microsoft Suite, etc.)
  • Valid national police check, or willingness to complete.
