Airflite is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our Quality and Safety Management Systems (QMS). This role plays a critical role in ensuring Airflite's ongoing compliance with regulations and fostering a strong safety culture.
Airflite is an Australian company that has been in business for over 40 years and is involved in all aspects of aviation including aircraft sales, leasing, maintenance, product support, pilot training and defence.
We have offices around Australia with a worldwide reach and numerous OEM partnerships which provide us with the support and strength to succeed.
This role will be based in Perth and would be accountable for the ongoing compliance and improvement of Airflite and its diverse business activities within aviation ranging from Part 138 to 147 for is maintenance and training operations both civilian and defence.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they can be a;
- Educator and Advocate: Promoting a culture of safety and quality throughout Airflite, empowering staff to be active participants in achieving operational excellence.
- Business Partner: Collaborating with leadership across Airflite to ensure quality is embedded within our business strategy, driving growth and minimizing risk.
- Compliance Champion: Leading the development and execution of internal audit plans, proactively identifying areas for improvement and ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Team Leader and Developer: Mentoring and coaching a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Responsibilities:
- Promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.
- Oversee and sustain the effectiveness of the QMS aligned with NAA and industry requirements.
- Lead a team of quality professionals in conducting internal audits, identifying non-conformances, and driving corrective actions.
- Manage external audits from regulatory bodies, ensuring successful compliance.
- Develop and maintain organizational tools, procedures and systems including their implementation.
- Analyse safety occurrences and report significant risks to senior management.
- Provide expert guidance and support to Airflite departments on Quality and Safety matters.
- Liaise with CASA and other external stakeholders on Quality and Safety matters.
- Ad-hoc travel to inspect suppliers or facilitate offsite audits as required,(all travel is infrequent and provided by the company accordingly).
- WHS & Environmental compliances per the regulators.
Qualifications:
- Experienced in aviation quality management
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing audits and quality projects.
- CASA Form 4 approval / holder.
- Lead auditor qualification with extensive aviation auditing experience.
- Strong understanding of the safety management systems (SMS).
- WHS Experience
