Anglo American Steelmaking Coal Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia. Job Description

As our Safety and Health Manager you would be responsible to provide support and coaching across our interesting and complex operations at our Capcoal Mine. You will support the line in optimising safety and health and risk controls through design, implementation, evaluation, coordination and management of the safety and health and risk control systems. This role is key in the overall management of the safety and health function for the mine, providing timely guidance and service to key stakeholders. Provide expert knowledge to challenge paradigms with site leadership to improve the robustness and effectiveness of safe work design practices and safety and health hazard identification and management. Visibly lead by example and set clear, consistent expectations, including consistent use of systems, symbols and behaviours aligned to Anglo American values Create culture to embrace feedback and be open to challenge unsafe behaviours Ensure application of safety and health principles in all operational and non-operational interactions Develop site specific plans to implement approved Group and BU Safety Strategy Develop, deliver and monitor safety and health operational and capital budget Provide advice and support in response to safety and health issues raised by Regulatory, industry and workforce representatives. Engage and collaborate with operational leadership and their teams to effectively analyse and identify core operational priorities required to embed and enhance safety leadership maturity. Advise all levels of management and resolve a wide range of safety and health management system challenges and related interfacing issues. Establish safety leadership in the course of on-site employee engagements and actively engage in Visible Felt Leadership interactions (VFL). This role will provide you with the opportunity to advance your mining career in a large dynamic open cut environment and to expand your experience across many different disciplines as a safety professional. Partnered with extensive demonstrated leader and considered accomplished practitioner, an expert knowledge in Qld Mining Legislation and a track record of leading ideas generation; translating these into practical initiatives to be implemented and demonstration of successful execution and delivery within Safety improvement projects. Qualifications

An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) plus a formal qualification in Safety or Health combined with practical safety experience with extensive years at a managerial level S1/S2/S3 G2- Facilitating Risk Management (essential) G3 – Establish the Risk Management System (essential) G7 – Establish and Maintain the site Safety and Health Management System (desirable) Investigation qualifications Additional Information
