Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Leadership: Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality policies.
- Quality Systems Development: Implement and maintain robust quality management systems, including SOPs, to enhance product quality and consistency.
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain strong relationships, ensuring the quality of incoming raw materials and ingredients.
- Quality Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular internal and external quality audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing quality data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Training and Development: Provide training to staff on quality control procedures, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Risk Management: Assess potential quality and food safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate and manage them effectively.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with production, research and development, and other cross-functional teams to address quality issues, drive improvements, and support new product development.
Key requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a quality management role within the food manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Experience with current HACCP / SQF / GMP/ BRC certifications and audits.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. - Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Ability to engage with production staff.
