The security team at Coles is proud on their successful delivery of customer-focused solutions. There are a lot of exciting initiatives on the horizon as protecting our customers, team members and reputation is essential to being the most trusted retailer. 

The Information Security team is accountable for all aspects of Information Security across Coles including Strategy & Architecture, Identity, Security Governance, Security Detection & Response, Data Protection and Security Services. This role will be based within the Identity team and will play an active role in uplifting the Coles' Identity and Access Management services for Coles team members, suppliers and partners.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the purpose of the role is to support the adoption, evolution, and maintenance of the Quality Engineering capability within the Identity domain, to maximise agility, accelerate test automation adoption, and unlock efficiencies.

The role responsibilities include the following:

• Accountable to build, enhance and maintain the Quality Engineering capability, frameworks, and patterns as a foundation for supporting business applications. Scope includes Test Automation, Continuous Testing, Test Data Fabrication/Creation, and Early Security Testing.
• You will support and enable as necessary the design, planning, implementation, and release of relevant Quality Engineering enablement capabilities across the projects, programs, and agile squads.
• Responsible to support the Quality Engineering outcomes of all ongoing projects within the Identity domain with a common test process approach, optimised capability usage, common metrics in place and improved speed to value.
• You will be accountable for the Quality Engineering and Testing aspects of the project initiative approved funding
• You will be accountable for a squad of technologists that will collaborate to deliver projects / products that are aligned with Coles business objectives.
• Articulate and communicate the Quality Engineering solution design for a project to stakeholders.
• Contribute to proof of concepts to promote early adoption with early-stage frameworks and code patterns
• Partner closely with other platform and engineering team, understanding current and future platform features and being able to impart the business value of these to downstream digital and business teams

About you and your skills

To be successful in this role, you will have -

• Thought leadership in Quality Engineering solution design for continuous testing and test automation.
• Market knowledge and experience in the delivery and management of retail and technology solutions
• Demonstrated experience in implementing technical solutions for complex and distributed environments with experience in security or identity and access management specialties.
• Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the technology’s broader operational environment (i.e., processes, procedures, associated toolsets, operating systems, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or software engineering related qualification preferred
• 5 years’ experience in the automation, development and testing fields preferred.
• 3 years’ managerial IT experience, as an Engineering Lead or Quality Engineering Lead of digital products in an agile environment, with experience delivering large programs of work, including operation support.
• Strong Manual and Automated testing experience, including demonstrated success with implementing Automated Testing solutions
• Demonstrated experience with a variety of licenced and open-source automation tools, frameworks, scripting languages (e.g. UFT, RestAssured, Selenium, SpecFlow, Appium, Cucumber, C#, JavaScript, Ruby, Java etc)
• Experience with the agile development process and developing code in alignment with coding standards and business processes.
• Demonstrated experience managing automated testing, both in terms of process and tools (e.g., Microfocus ALM, Jira, Microsoft Test Manager, etc).
