Join a century-old food manufacturing business as a Quality Manager
Your new company
You will be working for a thriving meat manufacturing company based in Wollongong with over a century of operational history. Their primary focus is to deliver high-quality products on time and to specifications for supermarkets and food service businesses around Australia.
Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the Quality department with one direct report.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement QA strategies in alignment with broader business objectives
- Ensure adherence to SQF and HACCP standards in theory and practice
- Manage audits and audit responses, investigate customer complaints, and liaise with customers and suppliers to maintain current certifications
- Train staff in their Quality responsibilities and ensure QA staff receive adequate support and training to perform their duties
- Oversee plant inspection processes and ensure the implementation of testing and swabbing programs
- Manage laboratory schedules and liaise with laboratories
What you'll need to succeed
You will be living locally to the manufacturing facility in Wollongong, an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. It is essential that you have previously worked in food manufacturing previously as a Quality Manager or Quality Coordinator. You will also have the following:
- Proven experience in the development and implementation of SQF and HACCP frameworks
- Experience in managing direct reports and collaborating with business leadership
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and outcome management
- Current HACCP accreditation
- Experience in managing WQA processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a background in analytical report writing
