Purpose of the Role:
The Quantity Surveyor will support the Commercial Department in appropriately managing bill of quantities, take off quantities, contracts administration and the claims, variations and payment authorisation processes as required.
Qualifications:
• Recognised tertiary qualifications within a relevant field (B.Sc. Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management)
• White Card
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role - preferred
• Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
• Experience in claims / variations Experience of SAP Software / accounting and associated reporting

Core Accountabilities and ibilitiesRespons:
• Where relevant: o Assist in the compilation of the project's monthly payment claims
- Assist in the certification of monthly Subcontractor applications for payments
- Assist in the effective administration of subcontracts, including assessment of variations, claims and ensuring timely payments whilst maintaining professional relationships with supply chain
- Conduct preliminary commercial evaluation of tenders from subcontractors and appraise bids by liaising with Project Managers and Engineers to assess bids
• Provide quantity surveying for contractual claims and final accounts
• Keep accurate and complete records and ensure the various document control registers are kept updated
• Understand the principles of dispute resolution and the mechanisms under relevant contracts to resolve disputes and demonstrate strong dispute resolution skills
• Provide reasoned QS advice on the strength of our position for matters in dispute and advise on resolution and recovery strategies
• Compile evidence and quantifications for a dispute resolution process for both prosecution and defence of claims (upstream and downstream)
- Provide take off quantities from Construction Drawings
- Prepare and assess revised Bill of Quantities
- Assist in contract administration and change management
- Provide forecast of relevant contract works
- General assistance of commercial matters
- Provide cost planning, estimation, forecasting, budgeting, weekly and monthly reporting
• Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and managed
• Gathering and communicating necessary information to team members about current status of team tasks
- Provide accurate time and cost assessment data
- Proposing improvements to the Projects procurement and management of contracts
• Ensuring management has reports and information needed to complete work
• Preparing effective reports or updates
