THE POSITION: The position of Rates Officer is responsible for undertaking various administrative and operational support activities to facilitate the delivery of objectives in the management of Council’s rating system. There is a daily requirement for contact with external stakeholders and the position is responsible for the provision of a consistent customer service experience in accordance with established business standards, as revised from time to time.
ESSENTIAL:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to collect and analyse data and information
- Interpersonal and relationship building skills and experience to facilitate interactions with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Organisation, project and time management skills combined with the ability to work unsupervised, handling competing priorities to adapt to fluctuating workloads and changing priorities
- Ability to apply initiative and problem solve on issues encountered in day-to-day activities and in the co-ordination of service delivery
- Skills and experience in administration with the ability to provide operational and project support
- Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills
- Skills and experience working within a customer service environment with the ability to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Permanent position, 70 hours per fortnight
- This position is a Grade 3, salary range is $64,196 p.a. with progression to $70,858 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $75,199 p.a.
