Rates Officer

Public Sector People (PSP) seeking a Rates Officer on behalf of a Local Council in Sydney.

• 3-month contract potential to extend 
• $60-64 p/hour + super
• 35 Hour workweek
• Hybrid Role

• Assist in the management of the debt recovery process
• Responsible for the input, verification, control and reconciliation of Council's database;
• Perform regular reconciliation of Rates Sub-Ledger to General Ledger and action any reconciling items
• Provide support and assistance to the Rates team leader in the administration of Council’s rating system
• Assist with Rates processes and levy preparations
• Undertake the daily maintenance of the rates database 
• Contribute to the efficient delivery of Rates Management services to Council and the community by processing rates related customer, property and account maintenance transactions.
• Provide a high level of customer service and communicate efficiently and sensitively in relation to Rates enquiries with all of Council’s internal and external customers.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Rates Management procedures.

• MUST have previous experience with CIVICA Authority 
• Previous experience in Government/Education/NFP 
• Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems
• Strong customer service, conflict resolution, administration and data entry skills
• Experience in Council Rate Management
