R&D Innovation Manager - Cosmetics

The Opportunity 

We are seeking an experienced R&D Manager to oversee the management of the QA/QC Team, and R&D activities relating to products manufactured by Ella Baché. This is a hands on, exciting and challenging opportunity based at our manufacturing and warehouse facility in Artarmon. Experience in TGA and GMP regulations as applied to Pharmaceutical Manufacture is essential.

The Position:

Product Development

• Manage the product development process and provide technical solutions to NPD issues
• Conduct in house stability, validation and compatibility testing on products and processes both current and under development
• Liaison with external development chemist

Department Management

• Manage all quality related activities within the Manufacturing & Distribution Centre (MDC) including QC and budgetary cost control, QA and reporting
• Maintain and promote safety and QC practices throughout the MDC
• Develop, maintain and ensure department activities are conducted in accordance with relevant SOPs and GMP guidelines
• Supervise and train staff within the manufacturing department
• Investigate and resolve any quality issues

Compliance and Quality Systems

• Ensure manufactured bulk product, raw materials, packaging and finished product compliance with government regulations and relevant standards
• Act as primary liaison with regulatory consultants and agencies
• Manage the technical aspects and TGA audit requirements as determined by the TGA Licence Requirements.

Skills and Experience:

• Industry experience in cosmetic manufacture essential
• Internal auditing experience on Quality management systems
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a cross section of people
• Uses own initiative and is proactive with the ability to work unsupervised
• High level of efficiency, organisation and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated experience in a Techincal / QA Manager (or similar) position
• Possess attention to detail and is solution focused.
