We are seeking a highly organized and friendly individual to join our allied health team as a Receptionist.
The Role
As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring their experience is positive and efficient. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, maintaining patient records, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced allied health rehabilitation environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel comfortable throughout their visit.
- Schedule appointments accurately using the practice's electronic scheduling system.
- Answer phone calls promptly and assist callers with inquiries or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
- Manage patient records by updating personal information accurately in the electronic database.
- Verify insurance coverage for new patients and update insurance information for existing patients.
- Collect co-payments or outstanding balances from patients and corporate clients at check-in or check-out as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness of reception area, consultation rooms and treatment areas
- Collaborate with allied health team regarding any changes in appointment schedules or urgent patient needs.
- Handle incoming/outgoing mail efficiently including sorting correspondence/documents as needed.
Skills:
- Must be living in Australia (Maryborough Regional QLD)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office Suite)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not required
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
