Overall, St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria has many arms and services. These include soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria, which provides a range of services and programs for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage. This includes crisis accommodation, drug and alcohol dependency programs, and housing.

The Role:

If you are looking for a purpose driven role then look no further. We are excited to be recruiting for a Receptionist to join the team collaborating across our Support Services.

In this amazing role you will be the first point of contact managing the front of house at our newly renovated head office located in Box Hill. You will be managing queries face to face, over the phone (Switch board) and via email in a professional and friendly manner, dealing with the general public, staff, volunteers, Members and visitors to head office. This role will also require someone who is experienced in administration and able to manage and maintain company contact lists, calendar bookings and support the day to day running of the office.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Manage office reception – switchboard operation, visitor management;
  • Providing administration support to the Property & Procurement team;
  • Provide accurate information to the general public regarding welfare assistance, furniture collections, volunteer opportunities and other general queries;
  • Assist with co-ordination of meeting/board room/car park bookings and catering;
  • Organise couriers and coordinate deliveries;
  • Ensuring effective systems, procedures and processes are in place to champion and lead the establishment of a genuine customer service culture with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

About you:

You truly are a people person who is able to provide a professional and pleasant experience for those coming into and contacting central office. You will need to be highly organised and able to prioritise your day efficiently, whilst ensuring all daily tasks have been completed.

This role is the face of our organisation and it is vital that the service offered is always friendly, efficient and anticipates the needs of all guests/visitors to the Office. This is a fast-paced role offering a mixture of customer service and administration tasks.

 More specifically you will have:

  • A real passion for delivering incredible customer service with multiple stakeholders;
  • Proven Receptionist and Administration experience;
  • Strong administrative & computer skills (including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel);
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • A 'Can Do' proactive attitude and positive team spirit.
