About Newcastle Endoscopy Centre
Newcastle Endoscopy Centre is a two-theatre specialist day hospital located in central-eastern New South Wales. Newcastle Endoscopy Centre commenced operations in 2013 and is the first and only purpose-built Endoscopy Centre in NSW’s Hunter region. Newcastle Endoscopy Centre joined Cura Day Hospitals Group on Monday 30th September 2019.
We are seeking a motivated Receptionist / Administration Officer on a casual basis working Monday to Friday as required. After a suitable trial period there is provision for a permanent position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performing opening/ closing duties of the day surgery unit
- Maintaining positive interactions with patients, carers, VMOs and specialist rooms
- Liaising with Private Health Funds regarding patient eligibility
- Processing payments via EFTPOS and handling billing information
- Accurate and timely preparation of theatre list and patient medical charts
- Ordering of general office supplies
- Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanour
- Medical record management to ensure legislative requirements are met
Experience and Key Skills Required:
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- The ability to take initiative, work independently and efficiently
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle anything that comes your way.
- Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Available to work a flexible roster including 6am starts and 9pm finishes (Mon- Fri).
- A high regard for confidentiality of information
