ANGLICARE Riverina's Community Services provides a range of  services for children, young people and their families throughout the  Riverina, Murrumbidgee, and Western NSW. This portfolio continues to  grow , and to ensure we provide exceptional support to the people we  service, we are now seeking an experienced Youth Counsellor to join  our Youth Services team within the Reconnecting Home program  (Homelessness Youth Assistance Program).

Reporting to the Youth Services Coordinator, this pivotal role will  contribute to developing and providing high-quality, early intervention  intake responses and ongoing support to young people aged 12 to 15  years who are homeless or at risk and their families. The counselling  service will take a strengths-based approach, using holistic  assessments, case planning, advocacy and support methods to  achieve various goals.

What's needed

The successful applicant must be a qualified Counsellor (minimum  requirement - Diploma of Counselling) and have a minimum of two  years' experience, ideally delivering services to young people or  working in the Homelessness sector. It is imperative that you also have  experience and knowledge in delivering culturally sensitive programs  and trauma-informed practices, especially in working with Aboriginal  children and families. You will also require a C-class driver's licence.
