Dynamic opportunities to join Uniting's Recovery Support Service on a full -time (35 hours/ week) basis until June 2024. Located across the NSW Northern Rivers region
Recovery Support Service is aimed at identifying community members impacted by flooding. You will engage, triage and assess people impacted by the recent floods in the Northern Rivers. This will involve supporting people to build capacity, develop community linkages and access all available Support Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a tiered support response to flood affected communities such as advice, assessment, casework management, case planning, service coordination
- Provide safety planning and structure for community members
- Coordinate and follow through with referral information and community linkages
- Work in a team environment to provide wrap- around support
- Maintain up to date client records and information
- Casework or community development experience is highly regarded, but not essential. A willingness to learn and support casework practices is imperative.
- Experience supporting and working within the community
- Understanding of the child protection framework
- Experience working with Aboriginal children, young people and their families in a way that is culturally appropriate (highly regarded)
- Flexibility to provide services at flexible times and locations that are suitable to community needs
- Current working with children's check
- Current NSW drivers licence
- Salary from $87,997 pa base, plus super and access to salary packaging
