We currently have an opportunity for a Recreation and Open Space Development Planner to join our Recreation & Open Space Planning Team.
The Role
As a Recreation and Open Space Planner, you will plan and deliver projects in Council's public Open Space areas, including parks and playgrounds and assess and review landscape plans for Open Space areas within future residential developments.
You will provide professional advice to ratepayers, external bodies, general public and internal officers to help deliver the objectives from strategies, plans, or policies and support the team in the development and review of internal policies and procedures.
This role offers plenty of variety and will allow you to work as part of a small team, working collaboratively with the Coordinator Recreation & Open Space Planning.
About You
For this role we are seeking applicants who have:
- Experienced in landscape and Open Space planning and development
- A demonstrated ability to develop Recreation and Open Space planning strategies, policies and plans.
- Demonstrated skills to develop and manage minor capital works projects, ideally within the establishment of community facilities such as parks, play spaces and community spaces.
- Demonstrated project management expertise in the planning, implementation, contract management and timely delivery of minor capital works
- Strong customer service focus.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
