This full-time position is an exciting opportunity for a Sports and Recreation professional who is passionate about strategies to promote and facilitate sport and recreation opportunities within the West Tamar and for the benefit of its residents.
The role will work within our close-knit Community Services team with a focus on the ongoing support towards sporting and recreation clubs, community groups and individuals in the West Tamar to increase participation in sport and active lifestyles.
In this role, you will report to our Community Services Team Leader and be part of a well-resourced team to implement these strategies
The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have:
- Formal qualifications and/or experience in a similar role or experience working within the recreation or sport sector dealing directly with various community organisations.
- Experience and knowledge of recreation development principles and responding to community needs.
- Well-developed verbal & written communication skills with demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and effectively communicate with a broad range of groups and individuals.
- Demonstrated effective time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to balance competing workloads and deliver within deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office, database management, social media etc.
Current drivers licence.
