We are looking for a special kind of person - a St Vincent's kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.

As a Recreational Activities Officer you'll be part of an experienced, engaged and dedicated team helping to create a welcoming, professional and supportive care experience for the residents of SVCS Heathcote. You will actively contribute to the delivery of engaging lifestyle opportunities aimed at meeting the diverse social, recreational, cultural, and spiritual needs of our residents.

St Vincent's Care Services Heathcote (locally known as John Paul Village) is a 213 bed facility located 35km from Sydney's CBD. It is situated next to the Royal National Park, one of Sydney's real treasures!

This is a permanent full-time position, working Monday-Friday, 10:30-18:30. Flexible work arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.

Things that work for us:

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Lifestyle and Leisure or diversional therapy (or similar)

  • Experience working in Leisure & Lifestyle in an aged care facility.

  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with the pastoral care, care & clinical, and food services teams to create and implement meaningful engagement activities.

  • A commitment to person-centred care, demonstrating a deep understanding and passion for enhancing residents' well-being.

  • Ability to leverage your experience in working with individuals living with dementia to bring valuable insights to our care approach.

  • Capacity to infuse energy and enthusiasm into your role, fostering an environment that enables residents to actively participate in and enjoy meaningful activities.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and ability to follow directives as per care plan

  • Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities

  • Up-to-date National Police Certificate and Vaccinations against Influenza and Covid-19

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.
