About the role
- The Clinical Regional Midwifes are an essential resource to support the development of a strong regional maternity and newborn workforce and governance model to enhance maternity and newborn service provision in the Grampians region through:
- Facilitate capacity building and networking within the Grampians region to assist birthing services to meet governance requirements, education, and maternity and newborn service development needs into the future.
- Provide support and assistance to regional birthing services with the application of recommendations and clinical practices established by the quarterly Grampians regional perinatal M+M meeting.
- Facilitate the understanding of priorities for Government policy and translating these into practice at a local level
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to maternity services (education, governance, skill development, peer mentorship)
- Multi-disciplinary team work and care co-ordination
Skills and experience
- Extensive experience (more than 5 years) in both nursing and midwifery, including in an acute maternity setting recently
