The Regional Coordinator, Emergency Relief and Support, Level 6 role is based in the following regions:

The Regional Officer, Emergency Relief and Support, Level 5 role is based in the following regions:
- Metropolitan (head Office, Fremantle Location)
- Wheatbelt/Great Southern/South West
- Goldfields/Midwest
- Pilbara/Kimberley
The purpose of the Emergency Relief and Support Directorate (ERS) is to reduce the immediate and long-term impact of emergencies on people and communities. Under the WA State Emergency Management arrangements, the Department of Communities (Communities) is the prescribed support organisation responsible for providing and coordinating Emergency Relief and Support services in respect of an emergency arising from any of the 28 hazards prescribed in legislation.
ERS supports the strength and resilience of people and communities by working in partnership to plan and prepare for emergencies and coordinates immediate and long-term support for people in the response and recovery phase of emergencies.
Amongst these positions there is a mix of dynamic frontline roles and back of house planning and Support roles, collectively working together with key stakeholders to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergency events and make a positive difference to people impacted by disasters.
Please note:
- ERS is an emergency services function, and all employees of the Directorate may be required to work business hours or outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies inclusive of on call rosters.
- Willing to undertake travel with minimal assistance to regional or remote locations, including various modes a travel some include, travel off-road, aircraft, light aircraft, and involving overnight or short stays and camping.
- To be appointed to the role of Regional Officer you will be required to complete a satisfactory medical and functional capacity examination.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months across the Department of Communities.
