Join Our Team as the Regional Food Donation Coordinator!
The Regional Food Donation Program will instigate a coordinated and collective approach to increase the volume and impact of food rescue and relief efforts and maximise Food Donations in the Illawarra region. The program has the dual objective of decreasing the amount of edible food being wasted and increasing the number of individuals and families receiving food relief. The position will sit within the Food Fairness Illawarra (FFI) program responsible for executing a successful application from the Food Rescue Grants program at the NSW Environmental Protection Authority. HCI is the governing body of Food Fairness Illawarra, a community coalition who have worked together since 2005 to make healthy and sustainable food affordable and accessible for all. FFI is guided by representatives from HCI, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, Wollongong City Council, Shellharbour City Council and the University of Wollongong. It has a wider network of over 3000 individuals, community groups, charities and non-government organisations, who recognise the need for collaboration between community, industry, and governments to unlock fairer food solutions.
