The RoleThis position works with stakeholders, predominantly Local Government Authorities, to support the development and delivery of community sport and active recreation project investments by the Victorian Government. Further, these investments are underpinned by contract management tasks that require attention to detail and stakeholder engagement.The responsibilities of the
Regional Coordinator,
Barwon South West Region will include, but are not limited to:
- Liaise with and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, in particular, Local Government Authorities in relation to community sport and recreation infrastructure and development projects.
- Undertake a range of administrative tasks associated with the development, management and administration of funded projects to ensure the achievement of program outcomes and contract requirements. This includes but is not limited to, maintaining accurate information within the department's grant systems and processing claims and variations as required.
- Undertake research and analysis of project related issues to provide information and support to program staff and Departmental Executive, including timely preparation of briefings, correspondence and reports.

Barwon South West Region forms a part of the Sport and Experience Economy (SEE). Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) and Tourism and Events (T&E). SRV aims to create greater sport and active recreation participation opportunities for all Victorians in order to maximise economic, social and health benefits and enhance Victoria's livability.
About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Experience in the Delivery or Support of Community Sport and Active Recreation Infrastructure Projects; demonstrated understanding of local government operations, particularly the planning and delivery of community sport and active recreation infrastructure.
- Effective Communication: Prepares briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; Ensures written communications contain necessary information to achieve their purpose; Uses appropriate style and formats. Observes fine details. Identifies gaps in information; looks for logical sequences of information; highlights practical considerations of plans and activities.
- Project Management: Produces project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified; Regularly communicates with and supports project team members; Ensures project objectives are met by anticipating and managing potential and emerging issues.
