About The Role
Our Operations team at Whitehaven has a brand new opportunity for a Regional General ManagerNSW to support our NSW Operations business based in either Sydney or Newcastle.
Reporting into and supporting our Executive General Manager of Operations, you will effectively lead and manage all NSW Mining operations to deliver the budget including all relevant production, safely, environmental, cost and quality targets. Manage process and costs to ensure the Mining teams set and deliver the annual budget and production targets safely, efficiently and cost effectively.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification combined with extensive operations experience
- Minimum of 12 years experience in mine operations and at least 3 years in a senior mining operations role.
- Specific knowledge of the NSW Coal Mining Legislation and Coal Mining practices is required
- Track record of interfacing with and influencing across all functions of the business
- Ability to establish and lead a team to safely deliver work and foster a safety-first attitude and culture
- Proficient in identifying key strategic risks and opportunities that could materially impact the operation and implementation of processes and systems to mitigate/leverage them
- Strong understanding of mine productivity and data analysis
