Regional Library Team Leader

About your new role

Gold Coast Libraries is seeking a dynamic and experienced Library Regional Leader who thinks strategically, adapts readily to changing circumstances, builds productive relationships, and is committed to customer service excellence.

This position offers you the opportunity to showcase your exceptional leadership skills and be part of one of the most innovative services on the Gold Coast. You will lead a high-performing team dedicated to supporting early years literacy development, adult literacy and the lifelong learning needs of the Gold Coast community, while playing a key role in ensuring we achieve our Business Plan outcomes.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate flexibility, as they may be required to work across their assigned region or the entire Library Service and/or corporate offices as operational needs dictate.

  • Central Region Libraries – Southport, Broadbeach, and Nerang.
  • North Region Libraries – Helensvale, Runaway Bay, Ormeau, and Upper Coomera.
  • Southern Region Libraries – Burleigh Heads, Burleigh Waters, Coolangatta, Elanora, and Robina.

About you

To excel in this role, emotional maturity and resilience are essential. You will demonstrate strong leadership by navigating various situations with empathy and adaptability, fostering meaningful connections and effective communication within our diverse community. Your ability to swiftly master new technologies and proficiently utilise them will be key in supporting your teams and customers as they navigate our diverse range of equipment and resources.
You will have sound knowledge and experience in the delivery of engaging programs for children, teens and adults.
You will have a degree in Library and Information Management or an alternative relevant degree or possess equivalent knowledge/experience related to strategically leading Library Teams anddelivering programs in a customer-focused and business-oriented environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, with particular emphasis on building positive relationships, consultation, resilience, advocacy, and conflict resolution. Additionally, you should have experience in leading the implementation of strategic plans, organisational capability building, and/or transformational business change, as well as experience in financial management and reporting.
