The health services at Clarence has 3 modern health centres that delivers appropriate standards of health care to approximately 1700 inmates from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
You will provide primary care based on a patient-centred model allowing patients to actively participate in their health management. The team works closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated patient-centred health services that:
- Promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates
- Ensure the safety and security of inmates
- Fosters a high standard of practice to facilitate safe health care delivery

What you’ll be doing
- Provide comprehensive and accurate health assessments for patients
- Create patient care plans in collaboration with various stakeholders
- Deliver holistic and integrated patient-centred health services that treat and prevent communicable disease, and proactively treat chronic disease
- Actively support the Clinical Team Leader and Nurse Unit Manager to achieve required health outcomes
About you - your ideal skills & experience
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum of 2-year full-time post graduate experience (or part-time equivalent)
- Experience in primary health, rural health or emergency nursing (desirable)
This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a Federal police check as an essential selection component for this role.
