Core role duties
As a Registered Nurse performing PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) procedures, Skin Boosters along with a broader range of Injectables to enhance the skin procedures currently offered in clinic
- Patient Assessment: Conducting a comprehensive assessment of patients to evaluate their suitability for PRP & Injectable procedures. This involves reviewing medical history, conducting physical examinations, and assessing the patient's overall health.
- Treatment Planning: Collaborating with our senior dermal specalists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing PRP procedures. This includes determining the appropriate PRP protocol, identifying target areas for treatment, and establishing realistic goals with the patient.
- PRP Procedure Administration: Performing PRP procedures, which involve drawing blood from the patient, processing the blood to isolate platelet-rich plasma, and injecting the PRP into targeted areas. This requires adhering to strict sterile techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
- Patient Education: Providing patients with thorough education regarding PRP procedures, including the process, potential risks and benefits, expected outcomes, and post-procedure care instructions. This involves answering any questions or concerns the patient may have and ensuring they have a clear understanding of the procedure.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patients' assessments, treatment plans, procedures performed, and any post-procedure follow-up. This includes documenting vital signs, medication administration, and any adverse reactions or complications.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, surgeons, and physical therapists, to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to patient care. This involves effective communication, sharing of information, and working as a team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Safety and Infection Control: Following strict safety protocols and infection control measures to minimize the risk of infections or complications during PRP procedures. This includes proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
- Continuous Professional Development: Staying updated with the latest research, advancements, and best practices in PRP & PRF procedures. This involves participating in continuing education programs, attending conferences, and actively seeking opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in this area.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocating for the best interests of your patients, ensuring their rights and preferences are respected, and providing emotional support throughout the PRP procedure process. This includes advocating for pain management, informed consent, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise
- Quality Improvement: Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of PRP procedures and optimize patient outcomes. This involves identifying areas for improvement, implementing evidence-based practices, and actively contributing to the overall improvement of the healthcare organization. Please note that the specific duties may vary depending on the healthcare setting, scope of practice, and local regulations.
- Performing both Laser modalities and skin correction guided by the SDL methods and trainers
