We’re currently seeking passionate Residential Youth Workers to support children and young people aged 12-17 in the Newcastle, Hunter, and surrounding areas. If you’re dedicated to empowering these individuals and helping them build a brighter future, we want to hear from you!
About the Role:
As a Residential Youth Worker, you’ll provide care and mentorship to children and young people living in a 24/7 residential setting. These individuals have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, and may have additional challenges such as mental health issues or physical conditions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with daily routines, personal care, meals, and housekeeping tasks
- Organizing recreational activities and supervising homework
- Administering medication
- Providing transportation to school, programs, and appointments
- Facilitating family involvement and supervising contact visits
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation
Essential Criteria:
- Current Working with Children check.
- Current NDIS worker check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- National Police check within the last 12 months
- Valid Full driver’s licence and comprehensive car insurance
- Completion of NDIS worker’s Orientation module
- Certificate III/IV in Community Services, Youth Work, or relevant qualification
- TCI training and certificate
- Experience with challenging behaviours
- Ability to work flexible shifts including days, nights, sleepovers, and weekends.
