Registered Nurse Close Observation Unit
Fixed Term Part Time Positions available
Applications are invited from suitably experienced Registered Nurses to join the Close Observation Unit team at the Wodonga Campus. The Close Observation Unit is a 6 bed unit that accommodates high acuity patients from a variety of specialities including medical, surgical, gynaecology and obstetrics. The Close Observation Unit has a flexible model of care which incorporates the management of high acuity patients, care of Short Stay Unit patients requiring a hospital stay of less than 24 hours, and supports dynamic patient flow from the Emergency Department.
Features of the Close Observation Unit:
- Nursing ratio 1:3 patients
- Philips central cardiac monitoring
- Management of cardiac telemetry for Wodonga Campus
- Supportive nursing team committed to delivering high standards of care
- Care supported by Specialty Teams and Critical Care Liaison Nurse
Skills you will bring:
- Strong patient assessment skills and confidence in escalating care
- Experience with management and stabilisation of deteriorating patients
- Ability to co-ordinate patient disposition
Candidates meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
- Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA;
- Minimum 2 year’s experience in Acute, Critical Care or Emergency Nursing;
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-focused care;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team;
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024.
Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.
