What you'll be doing
The Heart FailureRegistered Nurse manages the care of Heart Failure patients by providing education and support to people with Heart Failure and encourages self-management of the disease in both the acute and chronic setting.
The successful incumbent will work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care. The position will also act as an advocate for the specific needs of all consumers and their carers including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the patient/client.
As a Registered Nurse, you will maintain and promote a professional standard evidenced by ethical nursing practice, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NBMLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations. This will also include the provision of support and clinical preceptorship/mentoring to all staff and students.

A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)

  • Strong commitment to contribute to own and team professional development and act as a resource person and to mentor others within the speciality where required.
  • Preferred experience in clinical teaching including preceptorship and / or student facilitation
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills – written, verbal and eMR
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues that affect the health and well-being of clients with an acute/chronic cardiac condition and the impact of this on their families
  • Able to perform effectively as a team member by liaising and consulting with other senior roles in the service as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy by holding decision making capabilities applicable in speciality clinic practice and service delivery.
