About the Hospital
The Health Service is located in the Isaac Regional Shire in the town of Moranbah, approximately 200km south-west from Mackay, a journey which takes approximately 2½ hours.
The Health Service consists of Hospital, Community and Allied Health, Mental Health and AODS services and the Glenden Primary Health Care Centre. The Hospital has a 12-bed acute inpatient facility and an emergency service. In addition, specialist outpatients, medical imaging (x-ray and ultrasound), a range of Telehealth services and ambulatory care, including mental health, allied health, community and child health services are provided through these health facilities. It offers Nurses the opportunity to experience a diverse range of clinical practice areas in a busy rural setting.
Mandatory Experience
- Rural nursing and emergency experience
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using this system
- Previous experience working in Australia
Mandatory Competencies
- BLS competency
- ALS competency
- Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK)
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behaviour management
- Mandatory reporting by Registered Nurses, and/or Midwifes for reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect
- Medications management including QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations November 2012
Additionally, the candidate must agree to undertake any of the following as required:
- Integrated electronic medical record training
- Online induction training
- Any other training as requested
Mandatory:
- Resume – please make sure that it is a current resume – as facility/ward will disregard reading if work experience is from over a year ago.
- Two References – they must be from within the last two years – meaning the must have worked with the facility within the last two years, and must be a higher level than the candidate (eg. NUM)
- AHPRA Registration – must be current
- Australian National Aged Care Police Check – must be current, valid for 3 years
- Mandatory Training – Hand Hygiene, Basic Life Support, Manual Handling, Blood safe, Infection Control etc.
- Immunisation – COVID-19x2, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hep B, Pertussis (must be from within the last 10 years) ADT will not be accepted nor will pertussis serology.
- Photo Identification – current passport or driver’s license with clear legible photo and writing – if it has expired, this is not acceptable.
