GenesisCare Hurstville, offers access to specialised cancer care services including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, haematology, and theranostics, for local and regional NSW communities.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Hurstville.

The primary purpose of the Oncology Registered Nurse is to provide clinical care, education and support the delivery of exceptional patient experience by responding to patient needs as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care.

On offer is a full-time position, working Mon-Fri.

More specifically, you will:

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to the patients at GenesisCare following the principles of evidenced based best practice. The Registered Nurse will also give support and direction to less senior registered nursing colleagues, enrolled and student nurses and PCA's where applicable.

• Assesses and plans nursing care for the patient using GenesisCare templates
• Administration of medications as per GenesisCare policy and procedure
• Performs nursing observations as per policy and procedure
• Attends to nursing procedures following competency assessment and/or education.
• Contemporaneous documentation as per GenesisCare policy and procedure
• Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, family and friends
• Provides comprehensive patient education as per GenesisCare policy and procedure
• Provides mentoring to junior staff and or students
• Collaborates with oncologists and the multidisciplinary team
• Maintains a safe and clean environment working within GenesisCare Policy and Procedure
• Maintains own professional development and sets goals to address gaps or desired growth

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Eligible for unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• Sound clinical experience and competence as a Registered Nurse
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers
• Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in the field of oncology is desirable
• Competent in the administration of Antineoplastic /Immunotherapy and blood product protocols is desirable
