SalaryCare1 is currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Registered Nurses to provide care and support to to clients living in SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) housing in Macquarie Park.
Specialist disability accommodation (SDA) is a range of housing designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. SDA dwellings have accessible features to help residents live more independently and allow other supports to be delivered better or more safely.

The specifics: 24/7 supports with shifts available in the AM, PM and active overnight shifts on a casual or permanent part-time basis with ongoing shifts available.

We have particular expertise supporting community-based clients with disabilities and in particular clients with complex care needs including people with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) and Spinal Injuries.
About the Role
Provide high level support to clients to ensure that personal and rehabilitation goals outlined in the care plan are being met to best practice standards with the aim of improving quality of life and generating positive outcomes.
You’ll ensure optimal comfort for our clients by assisting with activities of daily living and other care as determined by the needs and the care plans of the clients we support. Due to the nature and complexity our clients disability, candidates must have relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting clients with high complexity clinical needs
- Personal care: bowel care, showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
- Clinical management: High flow oxygen management, PEG management and feeding, manual handling, tracheostomy and ventilation management, suction and airway management
- Domestic assistance: light housework (cleaning, laundry and meal preparation)
- Monitoring the well-being of clients and reporting on their progress
- Social Activities: transporting clients to their appointments, shopping, any planned social activity
Essential Criteria:
- Nursing Registration with AHPRA
- Right to Work in Australia (such as passport, birth certificate etc).
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain before employment
- Driver license and reliable vehicle
- NDISWC
- Working with Children Check
- Covid-19 Vaccine Digital Certificate
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in in tracheostomy and ventilation management, suctioning and airway management and manual handling.
- Experience providing complex care (bowel care, catheter care, wound management, acquired brain injury, dysphagia, behaviour support).
- Previous community nursing experience is an advantage along with a genuine desire to support people with disabilities to live a higher quality of life will be highly regarded.
