Condobolin Aboriginal Health Service offers a range of medical services including a general medical clinic, medical specialist services, allied health, mental health, social and emotional programs, public health and a dental clinic.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, our client is now seeking the services of a full-time Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse to conduct health assessments and checks, health education, liaise between clients and health specialists, with the ultimate aim to improve the type and quality of care provided to clients.
This position is from Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 5pm.

You are passionate and empathetic about providing clinical care and have current experience in an Aboriginal Health Care setting. You enjoy engaging with clients, relatives, staff, and volunteers alike, and demonstrate tolerance, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude.
You demonstrate a high level of skills in the comprehensive assessment and management of Aboriginal people. You have an eye for detail, are highly organised and can manage multiple responsibilities at the same time. You believe in standards and procedures and have an influential manner with non-clinical employees and volunteers in order to promote the adoption of quality healthcare at the Heath Centre. You have the ability to diffuse conflict and bring about harmonious outcomes.
About the Job
- Provide high quality evidence-based practice nursing care and trauma informed approach, and in a culturally appropriate manner.
- Update and maintain all client records and liaise and provide updates to patients’ family members as required.
- Assist the GPs with procedures and collaborate closely with GPs on care of clients e.g. follow up and referrals and assist in the case management of clients
- Participate in chronic disease management, follow up and care planning of clients with case managers
- Perform routine pathology tests, screening and other duties such as ABI, foot checks, spirometry and ECGs etc
- Manage wound care consistent with current best practice standards and evidence based care
- Manage immunisations including the register, auditing and ordering
- Understand and uphold all policies and NHMRC guidelines in respect to vaccine storage and management.
- Adhere to infection control principles, policies and procedures at all times.
- Ensure all clinical rooms are clean and ready for clients to use.
- Educate internal and external workers on issues relevant to the health of Aboriginal people.
- Participate in events, activities and programs relevant to the health of Aboriginal people.
Qualifications and Experience
- AHPRA Registration and Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 3 years’ post graduate experience in an Aboriginal Health Care setting.
- Knowledge of Medicare Billing system is highly regarded.
- Fully Vaccinated for Influenza and completion of 3 COVID19 vaccination doses.
- Be proficient in IT systems (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams.
