Norwest Private Hospital is located in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility with an Emergency Department located in Sydney's Bella Vista.
Our Department
Our Operating Theatre complex has 16 theatres, 32 first stage recovery bays as well as an additional 32 second stage chairs.
Our specialties include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Robotics, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology and Vascular surgery
As a Registered Nurse - Scrub Scout your responsibilities will include:
· Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care
· Undertake peri-operative nursing care in accordance with legislation
· Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team including the Surgical Consultant, Fellows, Registrar, and Allied Health to achieve excellence in patient’s clinical outcomes and hospital experience
· Ensure patient and staff safety
· Proactively assess the operative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the patient
· Document into the patient's medical record objectively, clearly, concisely and timely using accepted abbreviations and terminology
Essential Criteria:
· Current Registration with AHPRA
· Minimum 3 years’ experience as an RN in a perioperative setting
· Experience in Neurosurgery, Cardiac and Vascular (Desirable)
· Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)
· Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
· Commitment to quality patient care
· Works independently and within a team
· Exceptional time management and organisational skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills
· Exceptional computer skills

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
