Our Mental Health Drugs & Alcohol Service provides integrated and recovery oriented Mental Health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, Mental Health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families. Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive.About the FacilityThe new McKellar Mental Health & Wellbeing Unit was developed in considered response to the Royal Commission and commenced operations in September 2022. It is a contemporary designed facility with a co-designed model of care that is recovery oriented and trauma informed. This 16 bed unit provides specialised Mental Health care for older adults (50 years +), including those with complex Mental Health and general health co-morbidities, with onsite facilities for outpatient appointments.About the roleYour primary responsibility is to provide high quality, best practice direct delivery of psychiatric treatment and care to consumers (50+) as part of a multidisciplinary team which operates within a holistic recovery based model.We are seeking registered psychiatric nurses with:

• Experience in the complexities of working in Acute Mental Health
• A genuine interest in delivering recovery oriented, consumer centred delivery of care.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team
